Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo National Park, Kenya On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi you will be met by our professional guides who will be at the helm during the duration of our tour and transferred to a hotel.

We will travel in 4×4 custom built safari vehicles to a lodge inside Tsavo West National Park which will take us about three and a half hours. The Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge overlooks the open plains of Nairobi and a waterhole with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop.

We will have lunch and some to rest before heading off on our first game drive adventure in the bush.

Day 2: Tsavo National Park, Kenya We start the day early to enjoy the best time in the bush on a 4×4 safari for a full day safari in the Kenyan wilderness in Tsavo National Park. The park is one of the largest reserves in the world covering 13 747km. The wildlife is diverse and you will hopefully be able to spot the Big 5 as well as kudus, giraffes, hippos, hyenas and cheetahs.

Lunch will be held at the lodge where you can view animals drinking from the waterhole or take a dip in the pool, after which we will head back into the park.

We will have optional activities such as bush walks with a naturalist, sundowner in the bush, excursions to Mzima Springs or the Rhino Sanctuary and traditional dance performances.

Day 3: Tsavo National Park to Amboseli National Park, Kenya
After the moring breakfast at the lodge we leave to the great wildlife destination of Amboseli National Park which should takes us about 4 hours to the park and our lodge.

Arriving for lunch we will settle in amongst the cool of the acacia trees. Enjoy sweeping vistas over the savannah and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Unwind at the pool or take a nap before we embark on our afternoon drive in Amboseli Park.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park, Kenya

A full day game drives exploring the park in morning and afternoon game drives. In between the drives you can enjoy lunch, relax by the pool or take a nap. In Amboseli National Park we are almost sure to get up close to big herds of elephants amongst other animals found in the lush swamps and arid grasslands of this untouched area. Mount Kilimanjaro makes for stunning photographs that you can add to your safari collection

Day 5: Amboseli National Park to Nairobi, Kenya
We head back to Nairobi after breakfast which will be a three hour drive to the Giraffe Centre, a wildlife sanctuary and educational centre. Here you can have close encounters with the giraffes that are being bred in captivity for the protection of the Rothschild giraffe.

After that we will go to the famous Carnivore Restaurant for a feast.

Tonight you can choose to stay in for a meal at the hotel or go out for a night on the town and try out one of the restaurants.

Day 6: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve, Kenya
After successful outing in Nairobi, we are travel north to the Samburu National Reserve which provides ample opportunity to see the best wildlife Kenya has to offer.

We will arrive in time for lunch and have a chance to relax and swim before we embark for our afternoon game drive.

Day 7: Samburu National Reserve, Kenya

We start the day early for a full game drive to enjoy the best time in the reserve and look out for remarkable species in the park such as the Somali ostriches, long-necked gerenuk antelopes, Grevy’s zebras and Somali giraffes. Cheetahs, elephants, lions and buffalos are frequently sighted, along with various antelopes, including striking-looking gemsbok, gazelles, waterbuck and tiny dikdiks.

We return back to the lodge for lunch before we embark on the afternoon game drive.

This is an arid area made up of bush, savannah plains and surrounded by mountains. You will also have the opportunity to discover the birdlife here with over 350 species.

The traditional Samburu people also make this area their home and you can experience their customs, rituals and ceremonies during your time here.

Day 8: Samburu National Reserve to Aberdare National Park, Kenya
After an early breakfast we will go on a 4×4 safari to Aberdare National Park in Kenya.

The National Park is situated in the Aberdare Mountains of Kenya’s central highlands which is cooler than the stark plains of Samburu.

Leopards, buffalos Columbus and skyes monkeys, giant forest hogs, rhinos, and baboons are often seen in the forested ravines and mountains.

We enjoy lunch at Aberdare Country Club on a hillside in the Aberdare Highlands before we drive to the Ark Tree Lodge for dinner & accommodation where you will view the elephants and other animals wallowing at the floodlit waterhole from the hide or viewing deck.

Day 9: Aberdare National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
We will enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the Ark and then head to the Country Club for breakfast. After which we descend into the Great Rift Valley of East Africa where you can view fascinating geological features as we drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for more wildlife experiences and then to Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.

We will arrive in time for lunch and rest for the afternoon game drive through the park which is home to white rhinos, hippos, leopards, tree climbing lions and depending on the time of year – flocks of greater and lesser flamingos which creates a spectacular hue of pink.

Lake Nakuru National Park is known as a Ramsar Wetland area which attracts a wide variety of birds, especially water birds.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya We take our breakfast at the Lodge/Camp and embark to our next destination the famous Masai Mara game reserve in our safari vehicle.

We will arrive at the Entim Mara  Camp  in time for lunch and then head off on a safari in the famous Masai Mara game reserve.

The Masai Mara game reserve is the ultimate safari destination at 1510 km² of preserved savannah. Rolling grasslands dotted with acacia trees create a quintessential African bush scene. The park is world famous for the wildebeest migration that takes place here at various times of the year along the ancient path between the Mara and the Serengeti. As the wildebeest and zebra storm through the plains they are hotly pursued by predators in search of food. The Mara is also home to the Big 5 which roams the plains

Day 11: Masai Mara National Game Reserve, Kenya
We will enjoy a whole day of game viewing in the Masai Mara game reserve on our last day of safari. We will have an early morning and mid-morning and an afternoon game drives. We will give you the last chance to see as many of the Big 5 as possible.

Day 12: Masai Mara National Game Reserve to Nairobi, Kenya
We depart to Nairobi after breakfast arriving in the mid- afternoon. Drop off in Nairobi hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for departure.

You have the option (extra cost) of visiting the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and having lunch there on request.
