Lake Baringo

Lake Baringo is located in the Rift Valley. It has several inlets but no visible outlet and so the water is assumed to drain through the lake sediments into the faulted volcanic bedrock. It is However, one of the two rift valley fresh water lakes in Kenya. It also has several islands with Ol Kokwe being the biggest of them. The lake is home and refuge to over 500 species of birds both indigenous and migratory birds.
